Nicole walked into our Downtown Access Center wishing to enroll in our Winter Shelter Program. Four days later she accepted a program transfer to our new Enhanced Bridge Housing for Women Roadmap Program.

This 5-story development will offer housing and support services to Senior and Senior Veterans experiencing homelessness.

Senator Kevin Murray (Ret) and the Weingart Center Association announced today that it will host a special groundbreaking ceremony on July 6th, 2021, to celebrate the upcoming construction of a 51-unit, 5-story permanent supportive housing development for Seniors and Senior Veterans who are experiencing homelessness.

Sammy was forced back to living on the streets of Downtown L.A. after being discharged from a facility where he no longer met the mental health requirements of that program.

Finding it difficult to solidify a stable foundation after his release from incarceration in 2017, Ime fell into homelessness.

Our friends at @invisiblePEOPLE took a deep look at public perceptions of homelessness and released its findings in a very informative (and easy-to-read) report, "What America Believes About Homelessness."

The Weingart Center is happy to announce that it won the Homekey RFP bid with Hotel Solaire, now to be known as The Beacon.

Lisa Halverstadt at Voice of San Diego explains the differences in housing opportunities for the homeless. This explanation helps counter the confusion that sometimes fuels community opposition to projects intended to assist homeless populations.
