Summer of Connection: Celebrating Community at Weingart Center
At Weingart Center, it’s about more than just providing housing — it’s about building a sense of home. This summer, our interim and permanent supportive housing locations were filled with music, movement, art, and celebration. From powerful moments of reflection to simple moments of joy, our events created opportunities for connection.
Here’s a look back at some of the moments that brought us together this summer.
Weingart Turns 1
We marked a major milestone: one year since Weingart Tower opened its doors. Staff and residents gathered on June 24th to celebrate with cake, refreshments, and heartfelt conversations. In just one year, the Tower has become a place of safety, stability, and new beginnings for many.
Pride in Community
The Weingart Tower community came together on June 26th to celebrate Pride with music, dancing, open mic performances, and lots of joy. We're reminded of the unique challenges LGBTQAI+ individuals encounter when overcoming homelessness.
Vision Boards and Fresh Starts
On June 27th, residents from our B7 Bridge Housing Program — serving people reentering the community — gathered for a vision board party that sparked creativity and conversation. With music playing and collages taking shape, residents reflected on their journeys and created powerful visuals for their future goals.
Honoring Our Residents
We hosted a special resident celebration at Weingart Tower on July 18th to recognize the people who make our community strong. There was food, music, dancing, and raffles — and plenty of laughter. Our residents are the foundation of everything we do, and this day was about celebrating them.
As summer comes to an end, we carry these moments with us. Whether it’s through creativity, celebration, or conversation, we’re committed to building a community where every person feels seen, supported, and valued.
