27th Annual Weingart Golf Classic — a Massive Success

The 27th Annual Weingart Golf Classic, sponsored by City National Bank and presented by U.S. Bank, is Southern California’s most celebrated golf tournament fundraiser, which raises money every year to address homelessness in Los Angeles. This year's sold-out event was held on April 3 at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, and it was our most impactful year ever!

120+ attendees enjoyed playing in the tournament while others took part in our half-day golf school. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed numerous contests including longest drive, hole-in-one, closest to the pin, and a brand new chip-off contest. Prize winners took home everything from wine to Dodgers tickets to autographed footballs and more.

Weingart Center President & CEO, Senator Kevin Murray (ret.), addressed the crowd during the 19th hole reception regarding the 18-story building currently in the works on 6th and San Pedro, which fundraising events like this one will help fund.

“With 278 units, that will be the biggest homeless housing project ever in the history of the state, and we expect to open that in January 2024…and in July, we will break ground on a 300-unit project which will, then, be the biggest homeless housing project ever in the history of the state.”

Congratulations to Champions for Change award honoree Jessica Lall, the day’s winners, and, above all, thank you to all the participants, board members, and sponsors who helped make the Weingart Golf Classic a huge success!
