A moment to celebrate Earth

On April 22, 2026, residents in Weingart Center’s IH Adult San Pedro Program came together to celebrate Earth Day with creativity, connection, and a shared sense of purpose.

The space quickly filled with color and energy as residents customized their own planting pots using paint, stickers, and personal designs that reflected their individuality. Each pot became a small expression of home—unique, vibrant, and full of life.

After decorating, residents selected their favorite seeds and began the planting process, taking time to nurture something that will continue to grow beyond the day’s celebration. The activity offered more than just a creative outlet—it encouraged mindfulness, responsibility, and the simple joy of caring for something living.

Events like these highlight the importance of community, wellness, and self-expression, reminding us that even small acts—like planting a seed—can represent growth, hope, and new beginnings.
