Homeless Transformational Center Soars Above Par
Proceeds from Charity Golf Tournament Support Weingart Center’s Programs that Serve Los Angeles’ Homeless Population

Los Angeles, CA – April 20, 2010 —  The Weingart Center Association, a nonprofit that serves homeless men and women in Skid Row, is pleased to announce its 14th Annual Weingart Center Golf Classic Presented by AT&T. The world-class charity tournament will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Sherwood Country Club, which features a championship 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course.

All proceeds from the charity tournament will benefit the Weingart Center’s programs and services that give homeless men and women the skills, resources and hope they need to lead self-sufficient lives off the streets.  A graduate of the Weingart Center will be at the event to share her incredible story of homelessness, in addition to how the Weingart Center has led her to having a stable life.

After serving on the event committee every year since the Weingart Golf Classic’s inception 14 years ago, Kevin Pelletier, Co-Founder and COO of Coastline Capital Partners, is the co-chair of this year’s tournament along with Gregory B. Koltun, Partner, Morrison & Foerster.

"The Weingart Center’s fundraising golf tournament is arguably one of the finest events of its kind held in Southern California," says Kevin Pelletier.   “Some of the country’s largest and most prestigious companies, professional service providers and individuals come out to the equally impressive Sherwood Country Club to enjoy a day of golf, a charity dinner, great prizes and the opportunity to learn how the Weingart Center has assisted over 75,000 individuals in breaking the cycle of homelessness over the last 25 years.  Co-chair Greg Koltun of Morrison Forester and I are grateful for the support of the Weingart Golf Committee who year after year succeed in preparing such an effective fund raising event."

Individuals who are interested in participating can register by visiting www.weingart.org.
