DARLENE LOVE TO PERFORM BENEFIT CONCERT FOR THE WEINGART CENTER ASSOCIATION’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Proceeds from Pop Music Legend Darlene Love’s Concert will assist Los Angeles’ homeless individuals to lead self-sufficient lives

Los Angeles, Calif. – November 4, 2009 —   The Weingart Center Association today announced that Darlene Love, often hailed as the greatest singer in pop music and who was just nominated to be in the 2010 Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, will perform live as part of the A Tribute to Transformation event, celebrating and benefiting the Weingart Center Association's 25th Anniversary.   This Darlene Love exclusive engagement will be held in Club Nokia at L.A. LIVE at 9pm on Sunday, November 15, 2009.

“We’re very fortunate to have a musical artist of the caliber of Darlene Love performing a benefit concert for the Weingart Center Association,” states Gregory C. Scott, President & CEO of the Weingart Center Association. “Darlene Love’s entertainment will certainly elevate our event to world-class status and help us raise much-needed funds that will assist us in helping the homeless men and women of Los Angeles become self-sufficient members of society.”

The Darlene Concert will begin at 9:00 PM and run approximately until 10:00 PM. The concert will be held in Club Nokia at L.A. LIVE, located at 800 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90015.  General admission tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased online at www.weingart.org and through TicketMaster.

The Darlene Love concert benefits the Weingart Center Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers transitional residential housing, medical and mental health treatment, substance abuse recovery, education, workforce development, and long-term case management to help homeless individuals stabilize their lives, secure income and find permanent housing.

San Diego based band SoulRaye will also be performing earlier in the evening.

A Tribute to Transformation event and concert are hosted by AEG in conjunction with its Season of Giving campaign; Remake My Life, a women’s empowerment movement and soon-to-be reality show; and the Weingart Partners, a dynamic volunteer group.
