Building a Better Man -- Men's Day Event 2010
Our male participants were treated to an event celebrating and honoring them on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. The theme of this year’s Men’s Day event was Building a Better Man, which encouraged being a strong and confident yet caring man. Guest speakers included the Mooney Brothers, who gave a comedic motivational speech. Entertainment was also provided by Open Door staff member, Braxton Young, who was DJ for the event.
All participants were given backpacks and wallets, and raffle prizes included iPod Shuffles that were donated by Wells Fargo Capital Finance. We would also like to thank the other generous companies that sponsored our event, especially CondomJungle for donating condoms and personal lubricants which promote safe sex practices, and Shelter Partnership for donating baseball caps.
Thank you to all our staff and volunteers who organized and hosted the Building a Better Man event. It was great to see so much camaraderie between the men currently living the Weingart Center.
