Residential Programs
The Weingart Center has an 11-story residential building that provides housing every day for over 500 homeless people who are determined to change their lives. We offer our participants a nurturing, secure living environment, and have numerous residential programs tailored for homeless men and women, homeless veterans, parolees, HIV+ individuals, the mentally ill, and people with substance abuse issues.
EMERGEEMERGE provides housing, education, workforce development and job placement assistance to help homeless individuals enhance their earning potential and successfully re-enter the community. |
EPICEPIC helps people on parole successfully re-enter the community by providing transitional housing, behavioral modification, education, vocational training and job placement. |
MedicalOn-site medical programs provide transitional housing and medical treatment to individuals discharged to the streets from area hospitals who are recovering from serious illness or injury, but do not require full hospital care. Also gives HIV+ individuals a safe environment to live in, counseling to deal with the diagnosis and better access to available benefits. |
Open DoorOpen Door is a 90-day emergency shelter program that helps homeless men and women to get off the streets, stabilize their lives and move forward. |
Other Residential ServicesWe have additional residential services that provide temporary shelter beds for mentally ill individuals, as well as for men and women applying for General Relief. We also have a VOA program on-site that provides alcohol and drug rehabilitation as well as short-term detox services. |
Project PaycheckProject Paycheck provides employment assistance, intensive case management and recovery counseling to men and women with histories of chronic substance abuse who are in active recovery. Also develops job marketability through its employment services. |
VeteransOur Veterans program provides individualized supportive services and promotes progressive motivation and instruction to help veterans find permanent housing and secure a stable income. The program addresses the unique challenges that veterans face, including mental illness, physical illness and substance abuse. |
Women’s RenaissanceWomen’s Renaissance is an employment-focused transitional housing program that helps homeless women reach their goals through case management services, resources, referrals and job placement assistance. |
