Homeless Charity

Homelessness is an issue that you can’t ignore, especially if you live in Los Angeles, the Homeless Capital of America.  There are more homeless people here than in some small cities, and enough to nearly sell out Dodger Stadium.  We live in a first world nation, in a glamorous city filled with celebrities and yet, thousands upon thousands of men and women live a bleak existence on the streets of Los Angeles’ Skid Row where they are subjected to poverty, hunger, poor physical and mental health, violence, and the many other harsh realities of not having a home.  Men and women should not live this way. No one should be homeless in the U.S.

You have found that homelessness is not only an issue that you can’t ignore but an issue that truly touches your heart.  You want to make a difference. You want to help end homelessness.  But where do you start?  Donate to a homeless charity, but before you volunteer your time or make a monetary contribution, do your research and find the homeless charity that is best aligned with your goals of ending homelessness.

Striving for a world in which all people have and maintain a high-quality productive life, the Weingart Center is a dedicated homeless charity that makes a difference every day.  The Weingart Center takes a complete and long-term approach to breaking the cycle of homelessness.  Believing that if you address the issues that caused someone to become homeless while also giving that person the skills and resources to succeed, returning to the streets will be unlikely.  Not only will homelessness be eliminated for one person but as more individuals graduate from the Weingart Center and other transitional facilities, homelessness will be reduced in our city as well.

There are many ways you can help the Weingart Center’s homeless programs.  Donate money, services or items, or volunteer your time at the center.  You will make a difference to this homeless charity that is making a difference in Los Angeles.
