Alfred A. Plamann, Al has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Unified Grocers, Inc. since February 1994. Mr. Plamann serves as Vice-President at Grocers Specialty Company. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Certified Grocers of California. He served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Certified Grocers from 1989 to 1993. He served in an executive capacity with Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO).

He served as Chairman of the San Gabriel Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Plamann has been a Director of National Consumer Cooperative Bank (DC) since 2008. He has been vice chair of Economic Advisory Council at Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco since June 2010. He has been Member of Economic Advisory Council at Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco since April 2009. He served as Director of National Consumer Cooperative Bank since 2003. He served as Director of the National American Wholesale Grocers Association (NAWGA) and the California Grocers Association (CGA). He served on the Board of Directors of several of the Unified's subsidiaries. Mr. Plamann serves as a Member of the Industry Relations Committee of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI). He serves as a Board Member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the Town Hall of Los Angeles and Member of Board of Visitors at George L. Graziadio School of Business & Management , Pepperdine University, the Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and Weingart Center.

Mr. Plamann holds a B.S. in Accounting and Real Estate from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton).
