Grand Opening -- Center for Community Health
October 29, 2009
The County of Los Angeles, JWCH Institute, Inc. and Weingart Center Association hosted the GRAND OPENING of the Center for Community Health Downtown Los Angeles, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility on Skid Row, on Thursday, October 29th, 2009.

The County of Los Angeles, JWCH Institute, and the Weingart Center Association celebrated the opening of the Center for Community Health Downtown Los Angeles. This state-of-the-art medical facility consolidates medical and mental health services, utilizing an integrated service model that provides easy access to comprehensive, multidisciplinary healthcare services, including: primary health care; dentistry; optometry; a pharmacy; a laboratory; radiology services; mental health, substance abuse, case management, TB control, HIV/AIDS services; and benefits counseling.
The Weingart Center Association, JWCH Institute and the County of Los Angeles established an innovative, collaborative partnership to address the currently fragmented delivery system of medical and mental health services on Skid Row. Opening this new medical facility represents more than five years of dedicated work by the collaborative partners, and successfully demonstrates how important public-private partnerships are in addressing the needs of our communities.
We are excited to be part of a project that improves the health and well-being of homeless and underserved men and women in Skid Row.
The Center for Community Health Downtown Los Angeles is located at 522 South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
