"Changing Lives Through Employment"
Located at 522 South San Pedro Street in Los Angeles' skid row community, the Weingart Center's Leavey Employment Center shares half of a 22,000 square foot site with the Leavey Adult Learning Center. The Employment Center offers a wide array of employment services to employable Weingart Center residents and participants of the County of Los Angeles General Relief Opportunities for Work (GROW) Program.
A team of job developers and employment counselors provide extensive vocational assessments, job lead information, and current labor market information to assist low income and homeless men and women find employment. Services also include skill building and ongoing counseling to help clients retain their newly acquired jobs and deal with the massive changes associated with re-entering the workforce and mainstream society.

- Job Search and Job Placement Assistance
- A Phone Bank
- Personal Community Voicemail Boxes
- Job Coaching
- Employment Preparedness Workshops
- Job Retention Counseling
- Long-term Aftercare Services
In addition, the Employment Center has a unique and innovative service component, the Business Partnership Program. A collaborative effort between the Weingart Center and local private industry employers, the program is designed to facilitate the movement of qualified low income or homeless job seekers into businesses or positions that under normal circumstances might be closed to them. Employment Center staff closely monitor the progress of participants of this program, and work in conjunction with the client and employer to ensure that placements are appropriate and that the transition into the workplace place is successful.
