"Tastings at Twilight"

On a lovely evening at the beautiful Hancock Park home of Colin Robertson, Consulate General of Canada, and his wife Maureen Boyd, the Weingart Partners Group brought together friends, colleagues and associates to raise money and awareness for the Weingart Center's programs and services.  The 2nd annual "Tastings at Twilight" was even more successful than the first.

Guests sampled fine wines from California and Canada, provided by the Angeline Winery, Blackstone Winery, Firestone Winery, Fritz Winery, Rancho Zabaco Winery, Canadian Consulate, Wine Warehouse and Pacific Beverage Company.  They also enjoyed delectable treats, while taking in the ambiance created by the magnificent setting and classical music provided by Weingart Partner Jennifer Turner and her accompanist, Helen Wu.

Event co-chairs, Lata Beer and Edward Trickey began the program with welcoming remarks.  Weingart Center President, John King thanked Sal Mendoza, Citibank's Greater Los Angeles Region Vice President and Community Relations Director for Citibank's generous gift establishing the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Learning and Employment Center Endowment which helps homeless and indigent individuals prepare to re-enter the work force.  Weingart  client Leon Merritt, shared his touching story of courage.

The evening would not have been possible without the generosity of our Imperial Sponsors (gifts of $2,500+), California Supply, KAYO of California, LA Carton Company, and Zabin Industries and our Magnum Sponsors (gifts of $750 to $1,000), Kristine Anderson; Eric Hasserjian, Alan Hartley and Mike Zaroudny; Cook Inlet; Todd Later; Midas Express, Edward Trickey and Topson Downs of California.

Special thanks to our hosts and prize package donors for creating a memorable evening that combined a feast for the senses and nourishment for the spirit.  Thanks also to our food donors, Border Grill, California Pizza Kitchen, Chan Dara Restaurant, Cheesecake Factory, Chipotle, Fritto Misto, LA Food Show, Panda Restaurant and Trader Joes for their generous contributions as well. The Weingart Partners are a group of young professionals that are committed to helping the Weingart Center accomplish it's mission to "break the cycle of homelessness and poverty."  The group is led by President Kristine Anderson of Hudson Highland Group.  Members come from diverse backgrounds and represent a variety of companies from all over Los Angeles.
