CityLive 2001 ~ A Home for the Holidays
The Weingart Center held its 10th Annual CityLive event on December 6, 2001. Over 500 people packed into the Grand Ballroom at the Beverly Hilton Hotel to celebrate the night's theme "A Home For The Holidays."
The evening began with a cocktail reception, and silent auction. The acclaimed Crenshaw High School Choir kicked off the dinner portion of the night with three rousing gospel numbers. They were followed by the evening's first award given to WCA's Client of the Year, Asim Allakim.
The event's Emcee was Extra weekend anchor Dayna Devon, who presided over an evening filled with fun, food and music. Latin jazz band Five Degrees of Soul kept everyone's spirits high until featured guest Donny Osmond took over, performing songs spanning his career, from the classic "Puppy Love" to "This Is The Moment", the title track from his new album.
The evening concluded with the presentation of the Inspiration Awards given to Steve Mosko, President of Columbia TriStar Television, and Paul Watson, Vice Chairman of Wells Fargo Bank. The awards were presented by Union Bank Vice Chairman Richard Hartnack and Melina Kanakaredes, star of NBC's hit show Providence.
The event took in over $300,000 for Weingart Center programs. Event sponsors included: Wells Fargo Bank, KAYO, Universal Television, Union Bank of California, New Line Cinema, Jeffrey Glassman, Dean Weiner, Marty Daniels Textiles, QST Industries, Leigh Entertainment, Walt Disney Company, Twin Dragon Marketing, Paramount Pictures, King World Productions, Mark Fabrics, Sony Entertainment, Parras USA, Sun Trust Bank, The Sullivan Group, Warner Bros., Jeffrey Michaels, Turner Entertainment, Castle Rock, Teleflora.
